Serifos, Pirgos

Pirgos is located at about 1,5 klm. from Panagia and it is one of most ancient settlements of Serifos. Today there are only abandoned houses: in 2000 its inhabitants left the settlement because there wasn’t any infrastructure (sanitary spaces, water supply network, electric power supply network). Nevertheless, whenever they have the chance they bring it back to life, as for instance during the festival of the fifteenth of August or in private festivities and anniversaries.
